The owner and staff were a delight. The food exquisite. The service impeccable. There were 8 of us and it was more like an intimate exclusive Michelin rated restaurant.
The mango salad was a meal in itself. The fine restaurants in Puerto Vallarta are not really noted for the quality of their salads which is passing odd given the bounty of their agriculture.
I had the beef stir fry as a main course with french fries on the side for my metabolism:((
Even the fries were extraordinary.
We were in the upper level and there is a lower level which is more suitable for couples.
The cost? Even with a devalued Canadian dollar? On par with a McDonalds.
Absolutely one of the best meals I have ever had in Puerto Vallarta or anywhere. Mario, the owner, greeted us and gave us a rundown on the history of Peruvian cuisine. We had an excellent server who couldn't have been more attentive nor gracious and very professional. The food was exquisite and presented beautifully. All of the dishes were created with ingredients that you wouldn't traditionally put together to create unique and delicious flavours. Mario and his team really deserve 10 stars!
My family & I had the great pleasure of walking by this beautiful restaurant while in Puerto Vallarta.
The food was remarkable from beginning to end, fresh tomato salad, fish ceviche & Scallop ceviche were to die for !!
Although the food was outstanding the reason I would go back is because of Mario ! His attention to detail and his charismatic personality was memorable!
If your ever in Puerto Vallarta, SUMAQ is a must stop destination.
